A: The community; everyone is friendly and helpful.
Q: What do you want people to know about living in Houston?
A: Come hungry for delicious food and many lifetime opportunities!
Q: Q: What do you do in your down time?
A: Cooking (and eating), hiking, reading, volunteering, photography, and crafts.
Q: What's your favorite spot on campus to show to someone?
A: I love to tell visitors about the Rice loop where you get to see a preview of our beautiful campus and unique architecture under a nice shade, all while getting your steps in.
Q: What's the most exciting time of year for you as it relates to Rice?
A: I particularly love the springtime here – the azaleas, commencement, and other exciting end-of-year activities.
Q: What's the one thing that makes Rice special?
A: I think the tight-knit and welcoming community stands out at Rice. That’s what first attracted me during my first visit here.
Q: If you could be Sammy The Owl for a day, what would you do?
A: I’d be sure to have a hootin’ good time with staff, students, and faculty across campus! Maybe pull some pranks while I’m under cover. . . .
Q: How would you describe your experience as a Rice employee?
A: It’s been a great learning experience while getting to meet many diverse individuals. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to work!
Q: Where do you see Rice in 25 years?
A: Growing, of course! I can only imagine how many buildings, partnerships, and campuses we’ll have locally and around the globe.

A: Community, personality, uniqueness and ingenuity!
