Students, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate a year of leader development at the Ray Courtyard last week as Rice University’s Doerr Institute for New Leaders held its annual end-of-year bash.
The Doerr Institute was celebrating a slew of accomplishments and checkpoints from the school year including engagement with more than 1,000 Rice students through its catalyst leadership workshops, synthesis leader groups, activation coaching, leadership excursions and other programs.
“Rice University and the Doerr Institute are so grateful for the efforts expended by numerous people over the past year in service of advancing leadership acumen within our community,” said Bernie Banks, director of the Doerr Institute. “Leadership matters, and Rice will continue driving innovations in intentional leader development.”
Attendees enjoyed cupcakes and other treats, played leadership bingo and even got to hang out with Sammy the Owl during the lively event.
