Pangea Potluck, a cultural collaboration hosted by the Hispanic Association for Cultural Enrichment at Rice University (HACER) in partnership with multiple student organizations, brought together the Rice University community to celebrate cultural diversity through music, traditional foods, games and more.

The event was put on by various student organizations last month — including the Rice Middle Eastern and North African Student Association, Vietnamese Student Association, Chinese Student Association, Native American Student Association, Black Student Association, Muslim Student Association, Taiwanese Association and Hong Kong Student Association.

Named after Pangea, a supercontinent that existed over 200 million years ago made up of all the continental blocks that later formed the continents we know today, the event creates a space for Rice community members to experience and appreciate the rich tapestry of cultures represented on campus.

“Our goal is to allow individuals to partake in a traditional event that promotes community engagement, music, dance and cultural symbolism, fostering a rich and inclusive experience for all students,” said junior Valeria Carrillo, HACER vice president.
