Two campus departments are working to make the holiday season merry and bright.
Rice University’s housing and dining department is partnering with Marine Toys for Tots in bringing smiles to those less fortunate. Owls can help by donating new, unwrapped toys for children. Donations can be dropped off at the Housing & Dining Office now through Dec. 14.
Joining the season of giving, Rice University Police Department (RUPD) is hosting the 11th annual Blue Santa Toy Drive in partnership with the Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) to sponsor 10 families. All donated items will be wrapped and hand-delivered to each family by RUPD officers.
To donate a toy, please stop by RUPD, Fondren Library, the Rice post office, the Bioscience Research Collaborative building or Rice Children’s Campus to drop it off. The CAC only accepts new, unopened items. Please refer to the CAC's website for approved items. The collection for the Blue Santa Toy Drive will run through Dec. 19.
