Nikhil Gattu, a junior kinesiology and chemistry major, has been named the winner of this year’s Undergraduate Scholar Award by the American Kinesiology Association. The awards aim “to recognize and promote academic excellence, to further the professional competence and dedication of academically accomplished students and to promote kinesiology and its related fields,” according to the association. A Lovett College mentor with Rice’s Office of Academic Advising, Gattu is a pre-med student with minors in biochemistry and cell biology.
