Rice swimmer Ahalya Lettenberger's late surge earned her a silver medal in the 200-meter individual medley SM7 final Aug. 27 at the Paralympics in Tokyo.

Two days later, Lettenberger — whose trip to the Paralympics was delayed a year by the COVID-19 pandemic — finished fourth in the 400-meter freestyle S7, an event in which she won silver at the 2019 world championships. Her time of 5:13.55 was 7.71 seconds off the pace of gold medalist McKenzie Coan (5:05.84).
