As chief compliance officer, Koshy '95 will provide strategic direction and oversight for the program and promote the university’s culture of compliance and ethical behavior, as well as being responsible for bringing existing and emerging compliance matters to the attention of university management and coordinating updates to university policies. Koshy will also lead both the compliance and executive compliance committees, which include those individuals responsible for managing compliance with governmental laws and regulations in their respective areas.

Koshy will also report to Rice’s Audit Committee on compliance matters and, along with the vice president for finance, will coordinate the university’s enterprise risk management.

Koshy assumes her new role Sept. 1, replacing Ken Liddle, who took a new position at Northeastern University in April.

Koshy oversaw NYU Abu Dhabi’s Office of Compliance and Risk Management, which facilitates and monitors compliance with university policies as well as U.S. and local laws and regulations. She also oversaw internal investigations, compliance communication, training, awareness, and policy development and review.

Koshy also guest lectured undergraduate courses on ethics, labor and economics, business and human rights, social responsibility and international business law at NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai.
