Holocaust Museum Houston has honored Milton Boniuk with its 2020 Guardian of the Human Spirit Award for his commitment to service and building an open-minded society. A Houston philanthropist, Boniuk and his wife Laurie provided the gift establishing Rice’s Boniuk Institute for Religious Tolerance. President David Leebron is honorary chair of the event, and board of trustees member Charles "Charley" Landgraf '75 is on the host committee. The Boniuk Institute is dedicated to nurturing religious tolerance and advancing religious literacy; respect and mutual understanding among people of all and no faiths, especially youth through research efforts; educational initiatives; and community engagement.
